Rich and famous donate millions for bushfire relief

Big names in Australian entertainment, business and sport are taking a lead role in bushfire fundraising efforts, with figures from James Packer through to Kylie Minogue tipping in millions of dollars to support devastated communities and firefighters.
Australian Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth and family made one of the biggest individual donations to date on Tuesday, pledging $1 million to assist with the bushfire recovery - matching Australia's richest man and some of the country's biggest companies.
“I want to support the fight against the bushfires … hopefully you guys can chip in too,” the Thor star wrote to his 6.7 million followers on Twitter.
